The founders of Balzac’s Coffee Roasters were inspired by the Grand Cafés of Paris and wanted to bring that coffee culture to Canada. At first, they sold coffee from a coffee cart for three years until they opened the first Balzac’s cafe in 1996 in Stratford, Ontario.
Balzac’s is a female-led company known for its delicious roasts. Every Balzac’s cage is designed to embody the cultural and historical significance of the location it is in. This gives each Balzac’s cafe a unique feel.
Balzac’s currently has cafes in Ontario, with most of them located in Toronto. However, you don’t need to be able to visit one of the cafes to taste Balzac’s coffee because you can find it in several stores.
